About Equin

We Got Tired of an Industry That Bets You Won't Read the Label.

Equin started as a handful of horse owners asking why supplement shelves look the same as they did fifty years ago, and why so few brands seem willing to explain themselves.

Where We Came From

None of us set out to start a supplement company. We started out the way most horse owners do — standing in a feed aisle, or scrolling a forum at midnight, trying to figure out which bucket of powder was actually worth the money.

What we found was an industry built on repetition, not research. The same handful of ingredients, the same vague "proprietary blend" language, the same claims recycled from one label to the next. Nobody seemed to be asking whether the standard approach actually made sense for the horse eating it — they were just packaging what everyone else already packaged.

That gap is why Equin exists. Not because we spotted a gap in the market. Because we spotted a gap in the honesty.

How We Do Things Differently

We start every formula the same way: by reading the actual research on equine physiology before we touch a single label design. We ask what a horse's body genuinely uses, not what's cheapest to source or easiest to market. If the research says an ingredient is doing more marketing work than physiological work, it doesn't make the cut — no matter how familiar it looks on a shelf.

We'd rather ship something harder to explain in five words that's actually true, than something easy to say that doesn't hold up.

What We Stand On

Research Before Marketing

We form the argument for what a horse actually needs before we ever write a headline. The science comes first; the copy just has to keep up.

Say What's Actually in It

No proprietary blends hiding weak doses behind a strong claim. If it's on the front of the bag, you can find the amount on the back.

Listen to the People Actually Using It

We spend as much time reading horse owner forums and reviews as we do reading studies. The complaints people repeat for years are usually right.

No Tricks to Keep You Buying

No auto-ship you have to remember to cancel. We'd rather earn the next order than lock you into one.

Still a Small Team, Still Doing It the Same Way

We're not trying to be the biggest name in the aisle. We're trying to be the one you don't have to second-guess — for as long as you own horses.
